Men's Basketball Greets Media at Annual Media Day

   Youngstown State men's basketball Head Coach Jerry Slocum and players met the media for the first time prior to the 2008-09 season at the program's annual media day, Wednesday, on Dom Rosselli court at the Beeghly Center.
    The Penguins, who open the season against Buffalo, Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Beeghly Center, officially begin practice, Saturday, Oct. 18. Release | Media Day Video

Women's Golf, Formeck Claim Top Spots at Robert Morris Invite
  Moon Township, Pa. -- The YSU women's golf team concluded their fall season on a winning note as the Penguins finished in first place and freshman Samantha Formeck won medalist honors at the Robert Morris Invitational on Tuesday at Montour Heights Country Club.
    As a team, the Penguins finished with a two round total of 648 (321-327), and won the event by 17 strokes over second-place finisher IUPUI. Release | Results
Coach Matt Anderson Q&A Entering 2008-09 Campaign
     Head Coach Matt Anderson has a squad comprised of three talented and dependable seniors, two juniors, seven strong sophomores and four talented freshmen. Among the group are four school-record holders in various events. Everhart Has Triple-Double in Volleyball's Four-Set Loss to Pitt

Karla Everhart       Pittsburgh, Pa. -- Youngstown State senior setter had a rare triple-double with 32 assists, 13 digs and 11 kills in the Penguins' four-set loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday evening.
    Everhart's 11 kills were a career-high against the Big-East leading Panthers. Ruth Boscaljon added 12 kills while Ebony Barbosa had 10 for the Penguins. Release | Stats
Bush, Wicks and Blose Named HBK Players of the Game vs. MSU
      Senior tight end Derrick Bush, junior cornerback Lenny Wicks and sophomore placekicker/kickoff specialist Stephen Blose were named the Hill Barth & King Players of the Game for their performances against Missouri State, the coaching staff announced on Tuesday.  Release | Notes | Press Conference Audio | Press Conference Video
