Baseball Hits Three Home Runs to Beat La Salle, 7-5
    Philadelphia -- The Youngstown State baseball team hit three home runs, and starter Aaron Swenson improved to 3-0 as the Penguins defeated La Salle 7-5 on Friday at Hank DeVincent Field.
    The Penguins were outhit 16-14, but they hit two more homers and stranded just four runners. YSU upped its record to 7-6 while La Salle fell to 2-12. Release | Box Score
Red Flash Hurlers Baffle Penguins Hitters in Sweep
Kristen Philen       Canfield, Ohio -- Youngstown State had a rough day at the plate collecting just four hits in the opener and three hits in the night cap and dropped a pair of games to Saint Francis (Pa.), 3-1, 4-3, on Thursday afternoon at McCune Park.

Intensity High As Football Starts Spring Drills on Sunny Wednesday
      The Youngstown State football team opened Spring Football Practice on a near perfect day at Stambaugh Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. The group worked out with great intensity for new Head Coach Eric Wolford and his staff. Softball Hosts Saint Francis (Pa.) Thursday, Visits Dayton Saturday
    The Youngstown State softball team (5-8) opens the home slate of the 2010 schedule when it hosts Saint Francis (Pa.) (3-9) in a non-league doubleheader, Thursday, March 18, at McCune Park. Women's Tennis Comes Up Just Short Against Pittsburgh, 4-3
     Youngstown -- The Youngstown State women's tennis team lost a hard-fought 4-3 dual to Pittsburgh at the Youngstown State Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon.
    YSU’s Lauren Hankle pulled out a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Adela Aprodu at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles Anna Volkova came back to beat Shannon Benic 4-6, 6-1, 11-9. Tanisha Welch pulled through topping Gabrielle Cantanzariti 6-4, 7-5. Release
