Youngstown State Posts League-High 16 Academic All-Horizon League Honors

   
Indianapolis, Ind. -- Youngstown State's commitment to academic achievement continues to be evident as a league-best 16 Penguin student-athletes earned Academic All-Horizon League honors, the league announced on Wednesday (June 27).
    Senior women's golfer Bonnie Sherman (North Canton, Ohio) and red-shirt junior baseball player Josh Page (Plain City, Ohio) are three-time academic all-league selections. Sherman carries a 3.85 grade-point average in accounting while Page boasts a 3.88 grade-point average in middle childhood education.
    Junior throwers Bethany Anderson (Jamestown, N.Y.) and Drew Weizer (Garfield Heights, Ohio), senior women's tennis player Gina Peretti (Boardman, Ohio) and junior baseball player Ryan Sellman (Twinsburg, Ohio) are all two-time picks.
    First-time award winners include softball player McKenzie Bedra (Bowling Green, Ohio), junior women's golfers Felicia Ciotola (Canfield, Ohio) and Brittany Jones (Oldsmar, Fla.), Dan Nemmergut (Youngstown, Ohio), Mike Perri (Chillicothe, Ohio) and John Sheppard (Huron, Ohio) of the men's outdoor track and field team and Jacquline Clonch (Newton Falls, Ohio), Lindsay Cobey (Canfield, Ohio), Darcelle Formby (Cleveland, Ohio) and Madelyn McGhee (Brookfield, Ohio) of the women's outdoor track and field team.
