Corey Ohalek Signs With Florida Marlins

Youngstown State pitcher Corey
Ohalek signed with the Florida
Marlins today as an undrafted free
agent, YSU Head Coach Mike Florak
announced.
According to Florak, Ohalek will report to Jamestown, N.Y.,
to play with the Jammers of the New
York-Penn League later this month.
Ohalek, a 5-10 lefthander from Steubenville, Ohio, went 6-5
this season with a 4.97 ERA in 13
starts and had seven complete games.
In a team-high 83 1/3 innings,
Ohalek struck out 67 hitters while
walking only 17. He also
hurled two shutouts in his senior
campaign, blanking Detroit and
Binghamton.
Over the course of his career, Ohalek set school records with
22 wins and 320 innings pitched.
He finished with 66 appearances, 18
complete games and had 208
strikeouts while only walking 87. |
