Lipinski Named Horizon League Player of the Week
Indianapolis -- Youngstown State
senior first baseman Jim Lipinski
was named the Horizon League Player
of the Week for the period ending
April 25, League Director of
Communications Todd Starowitz
announced.
Lipinski hit at a .600 clip (9-for-15) with six RBIs, four
runs scored and one home run in a
four-game series with Butler this
past weekend. He recorded a slugging
percentage of .933, had an on-base
percentage of .625 and improved his
average 54 points while having a
perfect series in the field.
In Friday's opener that the Penguins won 5-2, he ripped a
double and a two-run single. He was
2-for-3 with a home run in game one
of Saturday's doubleheader and tied
the school record for hits in a game
with five in Sunday's 9-6 win. In
Sunday's game, he hit a two-run
single in the top of the tenth and
added a double and three more
singles. |
