Florak, Schlabach and Lipinski Heading to Omaha
Youngstown -- The Youngstown State baseball team will
have three representatives take part
in the NCAA Men’s College World
Series YES Clinic on June 19 and 20
in Omaha, Neb. Head Coach Mike
Florak, senior outfielder Kendall
Schlabach and senior first baseman
Jim Lipinski will represent the
Penguins during the two-day event
held on the campus of
Creighton University.
Held in conjunction with the College World Series which
begins Friday, June 18, in Omaha,
the clinic is for boys and girls
ages 10-18. The YES (Youth Education
Through Sports) Clinic provides a
chance for youths to meet and learn
hands-on baseball instruction from
student-athletes and coaches who
take part in Division I baseball all
across the country.
The Penguins return to action on Friday night at 7 p.m. when they
play host to Horizon League-leader
UIC at Eastwood Field. Friday and
Sunday's nine-inning contest will be
broadcast live on WNIO 1390 AM. |
