Clayton Named
Honorable Mention Freshman All-Ping!

Youngstown State redshirt freshman
Tom Clayton has earned honorable
mention on the inaugural All-Ping!
Freshman Team, the Ping!Baseball
website announced on Monday.
Clayton, a Poland High graduate, was previously named to the
Horizon League All-Newcomer team
after being one of only two freshman
to hit over .300 in the league.
Clayton finished the season batting .308 with a school
freshman-record 20 doubles, 35 RBIs
and 31 runs scored. He also homered
four times, including twice in the
final five games. He also hit .350
with a home run, seven RBIs and
seven runs scored to lead YSU to two
wins in the Horizon League
tournament.
Clayton's 0.38 doubles per game also ranked 55th in the
country as of June 5.
