Josh Page Earns
Second-Team Academic All-District
Honors

infielder Josh Page has been named
Second-Team ESPN The Magazine
Academic All-District by the College
Sports Information Directors of
American (CoSIDA), the organization
announced Thursday.
Page, who also earned second-team honors last season, is the
first Penguin baseball player to
earned academic all-district
accolades twice in his career.
A native of Plain City, Ohio, Page has had an impressive
academic record at YSU that includes
two Academic All-League selections.
He has also appeared on the Horizon
League honor roll five times, had a
perfect 4.0 grade-point average in
three semesters and been named the
U.S. Army Horizon League
Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Page
currently holds a 3.89 GPA in middle
childhood education.
On the diamond, Page is batting .333 overall and .351 against
Horizon League opponents. He has
collected two hits or more in 12
games, including posting a
career-high four hits on three
occasions. He's made a charge late
in the season, batting .410 over the
past 10 games with 16 hits in 39 at
bats. Page has turned also turned 24
double plays and one triple play as
a middle infielder.
Brandon Caipen earned First-Team Academic All-District and
Second-Team Academic All-America
honors last season, and Ty Furino
earned second-team honors in 2003. |
