Joe Iacobucci Earns Honorable Mention Freshman All Ping! Honors

Youngstown -- Youngstown State redshirt freshman outfielder Joe Iacobucci has earned honorable mention honors on the All Ping! Freshman Team.
Iacobucci, a native of Boardman, Ohio, batted a team-high .369 and tied for the team lead in RBIs with 33. Teammate Tom Clayton earned the same honor last season in the first year of the All Ping! accolades.
Iacobucci previously earned Second Team All-Horizon League honors as well as being named to the league's all-newcomer team. He ranked seventh in the conference in batting average, and his .375 average against league opponents ranked 10th.
Iacobucci played in 52 games primarily in left field and had at least two hits in 17 contests, including two four-hit affairs against Kent State and IUP. He scored 29 times and had 65 hits, 16 of which went for extra bases. He had a 16-game hitting streak until being held in check in the final game of the season.
The All Ping! teams were awarded by representatives from the website www.pingbaseball.com, which is in its second year of providing in-depth coverage of college baseball.
