Shawn Coin is in his third year
handling the Video Coordinator
duties for the Youngstown State
Athletic Department. Coin primarily
assists the football program
throughout the year, but helps
coordinate the department’s entire
video production efforts.
A former assistant football coach and video coordinator at
California University (Pa.) and
Northern Michigan University, he
joined YSU in August 2006.
Prior to coming to YSU, he spent two years at California as
the video co-coordinator, an
academic liaison and an offensive
assistant. Coin handled all quality
control duties for the offense while
working with the quarterbacks,
offensive line and tight ends.
He was also a video assistant, assistant strength and
conditioning coordinator and
assistant defensive backs coach for
a year at Northern Michigan. He
handled all quality control issues
for the offense while scouting the
opposition.
He holds a master's degree in exercise sciences from CUP and
a bachelor's degree in from Northern
Michigan in sports studies.
