Tom Morella is in his 15th year as a member of the Youngstown State Athletics Department and his first as Assistant Athletics Director.
    Morella is responsible for maintaining and cultivating Penguin Club and Football Alumni Club memberships and events. He serves as the department’s liaison for university facilities and oversees athletic youth camps, concessions and information technology, and is the sports administrator for baseball, women’s soccer, swimming and diving and men’s and women’s tennis.
    Prior to his promotion, Morella spent three years as the Director of Athletic Development from 2004-07, four years as the Director of Income Operations from 2000-04 and six years as Manager of Ticket Operations from 1994-2000.  
    His tenure at YSU began in 1993 as a marketing assistant and was responsible for group ticket and advertising sales.
    Morella graduated magna cum laude from YSU in 1991 with a degree in business administration and earned a master’s degree in sports administration from Kent State in 1993. He resides in New Middletown, Ohio.
