Head Coach Eric Wolford Lands Talented First Recruiting Class

Youngstown -- Youngstown State Head Football Coach Eric Wolford unveiled a solid 2010 signing class on National Letter of Intent signing day on Feb. 3. In just six weeks, Wolford and his new staff added 19 players, including 13 from the state of Ohio. The most signees by position were offensive linemen with seven. Wolford Gets Crowd Excited For Football With Halftime Speech

		Youngstown -- Youngstown State Head Football Coach Eric Wolford spoke to a packed house during halftime of the Youngstown State-Milwaukee men's basketball game at the Beeghly Center on Saturday night. Former NFL Player Andre Coleman Named to Coaching Staff

		Youngstown State Head Football Coach Eric Wolford announced on Tuesday that former NFL wide receiver and kick returner Andre Coleman has joined the Penguins’ coaching staff. Coleman, a graduate of Hickory High School in Hermitage, Pa., will serve as YSU’s tight ends coach. Wolford and Coleman played together at Kansas State in the early 1990's. Release

Former SIU Offensive Coordinator and FCS Head Coach Phil Longo Joins Staff

		Youngstown State Head Football Coach Eric Wolford announced on Monday that Phil Longo, who spent the past two seasons in the Missouri Valley Football Conference as Southern Illinois’ offensive coordinator has joined the Penguins’ staff. Longo will be the wide receivers coach and serve as YSU’s recruiting coordinator. Release

Former FBS Head Coach Shane Montgomery Takes Charge of YSU Offense

		Youngstown State Head Football Coach Eric Wolford announced on Sunday that former Miami (Ohio) Head Coach Shane Montgomery has been named the Penguins’ offensive coordinator. He will also coach the quarterbacks. Montgomery, who was the head coach at Miami (Ohio) from 2004-08, spent last season at Akron as the Zips’ offensive coordinator. Release
