Rowan, Stiff Defense Lead Red to 15-0 Victory in Spring Game

Youngstown -- Junior quarterback Todd Rowan completed 11-of-16 passes and threw a touchdown, and the Red Team defense allowed just 43 yards to earn its sixth straight victory in the 36th Annual YSU Red-White Spring Game.

36th Annual Red-White Spring Game Set For Friday Night

		The Youngstown State football team will play their 36th annual Red-White Spring Game on Friday night at Stambaugh Stadium. Kickoff for the contest is 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5. The game will feature two 30-minute halves with a five-minute halftime between the periods. The final two minutes of the game will be played under normal game conditions. QB Todd Rowan Goes As No. 1 Pick During Spring Game Draft

		Junior quarterback Todd Rowan was the first selection of the Red team during the 2008 Spring Game Draft Luncheon which was held on Tuesday afternoon at the DeBartolo Stadium Club. Defense Corrals Offense To Earn Red Jerseys For Fall Camp

		The Youngstown State defense surrendered an initial scoring drive by the offense, but after that allowed just two field goals and earned a 41-28 victory in the jersey scrimmage between the two units on Saturday morning at Stambaugh Stadium. With the victory, the defense will wear the Red Jerseys when fall practice begins in August. Release \| Stats

Bob Gratz's 42-Yard Field Goal Seals 15-12 Victory for Whites in Kicking Scrimmage

		Sophomore placekicker Bob Gratz connected on a 42-yard field goal to help lead the White Team to a come-from-behind 15-12 victory over the Red Squad during a 35-minute kicking scrimmage at Stambaugh Stadium on Wednesday. Gratz connected on five-of-six field goals during the scrimmage, making three for the Red team in the first half before kicking two for the White team. Release
