Stillwagon, Formeck Named to NGCA Scholar Athlete Team

   Coral Spring, Fla. -- The Youngstown State women's golf program had two student-athletes named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team the organization announced today. Junior Brittany Stillwagon (Bloomingdale, Ohio) and freshman Samantha Formeck (Northern Cambria, Pa.) were among a group of 410 Division I, II and III women's golfers named to the NGCA team. Release

Formeck's Strong Second Round Not Enough to Make Cut at WAPL
     Devens, Mass. -- Youngstown State women's golfer Samantha Formeck finished with a 15-over par 159 (83-76) following Tuesday's second-round stroke play at the U.S. Women's Amateur Pub LInks held at the Red Tail Golf Club.
   The 159 tied Formeck for 105th, seven strokes off the projected cut line. Release | Results
Ryan Stocke Ties for First at Mid-Ohio Invitational, Falls in Playoff
 

   West Lafayette, Ohio -- YSU senior golfer Ryan Stocke (Elida, Ohio) was one of five golfers to tie for first at the 45th Annual Mid-Ohio Invitational over the weekend at Hickory Flat Greene Golf Course. However, Stocke did not earn medalist honors competing among the strong field falling in the five-way playoff. Stocke carded rounds of 67 on Saturday and 71 good enough for a six-under 138. Release

Samantha Formeck Cards 71 to Qualify for 2009 Amateur Publinks
      Greensburg, Pa. -- Youngstown State freshman Samantha Formeck (Northern Cambria, Pa.) continued her impressive 2009 campaign earning a spot in the Women's Amateur Public Links Championship.
    On Thursday, she shot a one-under-par 71 to place first in a Publinks qualifier at Totteridge Golf Club in Greensburg, Pa. Formeck will take part in the event which will be held June 22-27 at Red Tail Golf Club.. Release
Women Take Home Championship; Samantha Formeck Takes Medalist Honors
     Lexington, Ky. -- In what was a complete team effort by the Penguins, the Youngstown State women's golf team is the 2009 Horizon League Golf Champions after winning the league title by 17 strokes on Sunday at Kearney Hills Golf Course.
