Men’s Golf: Stocke Places Second, Guins Ninth at CSU Invitational

Youngstown State junior men's golfer
Ryan Stocke placed second to lead
the Penguins to a ninth-place team
finish at the Cleveland State Fall
Invitational which concluded on
Tuesday at Sand Ridge Golf Club.
Stocke finished with a three-round
score of 214 to finish one shot
behind South Dakota State's Geoff
Mead who finished with a 213. Stocke
had rounds of 69, 71 and 74 during
the two-day event. His first-round
69 on Monday was a second-lowest
score of his career.
In the team competition, YSU placed
ninth with a three-round score of
923 (308-306-309). Cincinnati
rallied to win the team title with
an 885. Loyola was second and the
host Vikings were third.
Freshman Spenser Sulzner made an
impressive collegiate debut
finishing 28th with a 231 after
firing rounds of 80, 74 and 77.
Sophomore Tim Morrow placed 45th
with a 237 (80-79-78), senior Ross
Beal was 56th with a 242 (80-82-80)
and sophomore Jon Hamarik was 61st
carding a 245 (79-82-84). Senior
Ryan McGraw competed as an
individual and finished 67th with a
254 (83-86-85).
The Penguins return to action on
Oct. 1-2 when the compete in the
John Dallio Memorial Tournament.
