Women’s Golf: Penguins Place
Fifth at Rainy YSU Invitational
Warren, Ohio – The Youngstown
State women’s golf team had four
golfers place in the top 20 en
route to a fifth-place team
finish at a rainy YSU Fall
Invitational on Tuesday. Leading
the way was freshman Brittany
Stillwagon who finished 10th
in her collegiate debut.
Stillwagon shot 79 on Tuesday
and finished with a 160. Junior
Brittany Jones was 11th
with a 161 (76-85), while
sophomore Mollie Boney (82-84)
and junior Adrianna DiLonardo
(84-82) shot 166 to tie for 19th
place. Junior Felicia Ciotola
was 27th (171),
senior Bonnie Sherman was 30th
(173), sophomore Amanda Brindley
was 31st (174),
freshman Ann Ciaveralla was 50th
and sophomore Alison Straub
finished 58th.
Bowling Green won the event
with a 626 while Detroit was second
carding a 636, Siena
was third (639) and Cleveland State
was fourth (648). Bowling Green’s
Jessica McCann won the
individual crown with a 147.
The Penguins were tied for
fourth after the first round,
but finished five shots behind
the Vikings on the rainy second
day.
YSU continues fall action on
Sept. 23-24 when they
participate in the Elon
Invitational.
