Spirit Squads
Student-athletes at Youngstown State are backed by a very enthusiastic and talented group of spirit squads - Cheerleaders, Penguinettes, the Marching Pride and our mascots, Pete & Penny. The Cheerleaders represent the department both at community events and on the sidelines of athletic competion. The Penguinettes are our group of majorettes and dancers that enhance the performance of the Marching Pride. The Marching Pride is part of YSU's nationally-respected Dana School of Music.
