Your membership in The Penguin Club
directly impacts our Penguin
student-athletes participating in 18
Division I varsity sports. Your
support helps provide scholarships
and grant-in-aid, which enable our
student-athletes to pursue their
education while competing in the
Horizon League and Gateway Football
Conference.
Membership is open to alumni, friends of the
university, businesses, foundations
and our great fans. As the cost of
both higher education and athletic
competition continues to rise, so
does the challenge of competing at a
Championship Level. To meet this
challenge, the YSU Athletic
Department relies on Penguin Club
membership, fund-raising events and
special donors to provide the margin
for excellence each year.
The Penguin Club has opportunities that are unique to
football through the Gridiron Club
and benefits for the college
basketball fan through the Courtside
Coaches Club.
Your support of the Penguin Club is vital to our
mission of providing YSU
student-athletes with educational
and athletic opportunities. Beyond
the personal pleasure gained from
being an active Penguin Family
member, your membership also brings
tax advantages.
Significant resources are required to support an
intercollegiate athletic program and
to provide opportunities to our
current student-athletes and our
future community leaders. That is
why your support of the Penguin Club

student-athletes while promoting the

What is my contribution to the Penguin Club utilized for?
Penguin Club membership revenue is used to cover the costs of athletic
grant-in-aid provided to our student-athletes. Scholarships are the
single-largest
investment made by the Athletic Department. Athletic grant-in-aid
can cover tuition, books, room and board. In addition, Penguin Club
revenues
support and enhance the Athletic Department’s general fund.
Is my contribution to the Penguin Club tax deductible?
Yes. Your charitable contribution
is tax deductible, excluding the value of
the benefits received. Please consult your tax advisor for complete
details.
Does my membership include season tickets?
Season tickets are included in the
Royal level and above. Additional season
tickets may be purchased in addition to your Penguin Club tickets.
Does my membership benefit YSU’s Olympic Sports?
Yes. All Penguin Club membership
dollars go to benefit the entire inter-collegiate
