Cardinals Fly Past YSU, 5-1
Youngstown --
Louisville's Jamie Craft scored two
goals to lead the Cardinals past the
Youngstown State Soccer team, 5-1,
on Friday afternoon at Stambaugh
Stadium.
Craft scored her first goal at 36:54 off an assist from Liz
Kinny and added her second of the
game at 44:28 of a cross from Amy
Seng. Louisville's Ashley
Garcia scored the fourth goal of the
contest right before the half on a
penalty kick.
Sophomore Jessica
Yarter scored the Penguins loan goal
and her fourth of the season at
20:30.
The Cardinals outshot the Penguins 23-5 and outcornered YSU
10-0. Junior goalkeeper Mia
Railing collected 13 saves for
Youngstown State. With the
loss the Penguins fall to 1-4 on the
season and Louisville improves to
2-1-1 with the win.
The Penguins begin the first of a five-game road trip when
they travel to Hamilton, NY on
Sunday, Sept. 14 to play Colgate at
noon. |
