Deprey's Goal Lifts Penguins To First Horizon League Victory
Struthers, Ohio --
Youngstown State sophomore Katie
Deprey scored her second goal of the
season to lift the Penguins (2-15,
1-5 Horizon League) to their first
Horizon League win with a 1-0
victory over Loyola (6-10, 1-5
Horizon League) on Thursday
afternoon at the James J. Simon, Sr.
Soccer Park.
After a Loyola foul, junior Kim Jugenheimer raced the ball up
the left sideline to midfield and
found sophomore Jessica Yarter.
Yarter dribbled the ball into
Rambler territory where she found
Deprey crossing the middle of the
field. Beating all Loyola's
defenders to the penalty box, Deprey
lofted a shot over the out-stretched
arms of Loyola goalkeeper Emily
Peick and found the net at the 73:06
mark. Jugenheimer and Yarter were
both credited with their second
assist of the season.
YSU goalkeeper Mia Railing recorded her first shutout
of the season and tallied five
saves.
The Penguins conclude their regular season against
Akron, Sunday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. in
Akron, Ohio. |
