Colonials Edge Penguins in Home Opener, 2-1

The Youngstown State soccer team fell to 0-2 on the season after dropping their match, 2-1, to Robert Morris on Sunday afternoon at Stambaugh Stadium.
    RMU got on the board first when Hilary Nellis scored from 10 yards out. The Penguins trailed at the half until freshman Maddie Lawther scored her first collegiate goal off a cross from Diane Fellabaum at 51:17 to tie the game.  RMU's Angela Story scored the winning goal for the Colonials late in the match off a pass from Nellis.
    RMU outshot YSU 18-10 and outcornered the Penguins 4-1.  Junior keeper Mia Railing collected six saves for the YSU.
    Youngstown State returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 3 when they play host to Duquesne at 7 p.m. at Stambaugh Stadium.
