Kelsey Kempton Receives Horizon League Soccer All-Newcomer Honors

Indianapolis -- The Horizon League announced Wednesday morning that freshman defender Kelsey Kempton of Strongsville, Ohio has been named to the All-Newcomer team for her accomplishments this season.

Kempton started in all 18 games and scored two goals. Her goal against Valparaiso helped give YSU the early lead and she scored in the 8-0 shutout over Wheeling Jesuit.

Kempton played a crucial role in defending YSU's backfield this year and helping the team achieve four shutouts for the year. She is also credited with five points this season and took a total of 11 shots.
