Amanda
Barch Becomes Seventh YSU Soccer
Recruit
Youngstown -- Amanda Barch
(Grove City, Ohio) has become the
seventh soccer recruit to sign a
National Letter of Intent to
continue her athletic and academic
career at Youngstown State
University, women's soccer Head
Coach Will Lemke announced Thursday.
"Amanda is an
athletic and versatile defender that
will provide great depth in our
line-up," Lemke said. "Her unique
size and athleticism gives her the
ability to be a threat on both sides
of the ball."
Barch, a
6-foot defender, was a four-year
letterwinner at Bishop Ready High
School in Columbus, Ohio, and earned
first-team all-conference honors.
She was also
named to the Senior All-Star Team
and named Team Captain for the
Senior All-Star Game.
She joins
Lydia Allen (La Crescent, Minn.),
Brittany Dowd (Lisbon, Ohio), Olivia
Dressler (Garrettsville, Ohio),
Shelby Parks (Pittsburgh, Pa.),
Katie Peterlin (Parma, Ohio) and
Cory Stark (Belle Vernon, Pa.) in
the 2009 recruiting class. |
