The Youngstown State softball team's
final two contests at the 2010 Rebel
Games have been rained out. The
Penguins, who have won five of their
last nine games, host Saint Francis
(Pa.) in a doubleheader in the 2010
home opener on Thursday, March 18. |

| Softball Bangs Out 15 Hits in 11-5 Win Over Wagner |

Orlando, Fla. -- Junior Kim Klonowski, sophomore Kristen Philen and
freshman Vicky Rumph posted three hits apiece and the Youngstown State softball
team blasted a total of 15 hits en route to an 11-5 rain-shortened win over
Wagner on Thursday morning at the Rebel Games. YSU's game against Bryant was
rained out.

Orlando,
Fla. -- Freshman Hana Somogyi
pitched six solid innings allowing
just five hits and two earned
runs and the Penguins offense
pounded out 12 hits en route to a
5-3 win over Saint Louis on
Wednesday afternoon at the
Rebel Games.
The Penguins dropped
their second game to South Dakota,
4-3.

| Thomas Named Horizon League Softball
Player of the Week |

Indianapolis,
Ind. -- Youngstown State
sophomore Haley Thomas was named the
Horizon League Player of the Week
for the week of March 8, the league
announced on Monday.
Thomas, from Simi Valley, Calif.,
set two single-game records last
week with four hits and two triples
in a 12-0 win over South Carolina
State last week. Thomas batted .538
(6-for-13) with five of her seven
hits going for extra bases.

| Cale's Gem Leads Softball to Day

Orlando, Fla. -- Senior Cheryl
Cale struck out four, scattered seven hits and allowed just one run in another
complete-game effort to lead the Youngstown State softball team to an 8-1
victory over Fairfield on Monday afternoon at the Rebel Games. The Penguins lost
to Sacred Heart, 5-4, earlier in the day.
