Softball Falls to Loyola, 10-0
Chicago, Ill. -- The
Youngstown State softball team lost
its fourth straight contest and was
swept by Loyola after dropping a
10-0 decision on Sunday afternoon at
the Loyola Softball Field.
The Penguins fall to 2-14 overall
and 0-3 in the Horizon League and
the Ramblers improve to 9-12 overall
and 4-1 in the Horizon League.
The Ramblers sent 11 batters to the
plate and scored seven runs in the
bottom of the first inning en route
the shutout.
Loyola's Amy Solava allowed just one
hit - to Rochelle Vanyi - and struck
out six in five innings pitched.
The Penguins host Niagara, Tuesday,
April 1, in the 2008 home opener.
First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. at
McCune Park in Canfield, Ohio. |
