to Hold
Free Youth Clinic |

Youngstown -- The Youngstown State softball
program will hold a free youth
clinic, Saturday, Sept. 20, at
McCune Park in Canfield, Ohio, to
kick-off its annual Hit-A-Home Run
Through Recycling Drive, Head Coach
Brian Campbell announced on
Thursday.
The clinic, which will run from 10
a.m. to Noon, is open for students
from eighth to 12th grade and is
limited to 150 participants.
Participants are urged to bring any
used softball equipment for the
recycling drive.

Brian Campbell announced Wednesday
infielder Kristina Rendle (Oregon,
Ohio/Clay) will join the Penguins
softball program for the 2009
season.
Rendle,
a transfer from Tiffin, has three
years of immediate eligibility
remaining.

Youngstown State softball Head Coach
Brian Campbell announced Monday the
program will hold walk-on tryouts
for the 2009 season on Sept. 8-9.
Those
interested must stop by the softball
office on Monday, August 25, and
attend a mandatory NCAA meeting on
Tuesday, August 26.

Tiffany Patteson, the most-decorated
softball player in Youngstown State history, has returned to her alma
mater to serve as an assistant softball coach, Head Softball Coach Brian
Campbell announced.
Patteson spent the 2008 season
as a graduate assistant coach at
Tiffin, where she helped guide the
Dragons to a 27-14-1 record in their
inaugural season as an NCAA Division
II squad.

Brian Campbell, the winningest
softball coach in Tiffin University
history, has been named the ninth
Head Coach of the Youngstown State
University softball program,
Athletics Director Ron
Strollo announced on Tuesday (June
17).
Campbell posted an
impressive 285-129-1 overall record
and a .688 winning percentage during
his eight-year tenure at Tiffin.
