The Youngstown State baseball team will have to wait another week to start its 2014 season after having its opening four-game series cancelled due to a snowstorm in the southeast.

The Penguins were originally supposed to play a four-game series in Charlotte, N.C. starting Friday against Virginia Tech and Charlotte. When that became impossible, they explored other opponents and locations but ultimately could not find a fit.

As a result of this weekend's cancellations, Youngstown State has added two games scheduled for later in the season. The Penguins will play at Penn State on April 1 at 6:30 p.m., and they will host Toledo on May 13.

The new target for the season opener is Feb. 21 at UAB. That game starts a busy stretch on the schedule with eight road games in 10 days.
