Due to rain in this weekend's forecast, the Youngstown State baseball team is announcing a schedule change for its series against Valparaiso at Eastwood Field.

The Penguins and Crusaders will now play a doubleheader on Friday at 2 p.m. Saturday's game remains scheduled for 3 p.m., weather permitting. Collin Floyd and Jeremy Quinlan are scheduled to pitch for YSU on Friday.

Youngstown State will still participate in the Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer event on Friday to support Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley and the fight against childhood cancer. The giveaway items from the Mahoning Valley Scrappers will still be available to the first 100 fans. YSU's Team IMPACT player Jacob Sypert will throw out the first pitch of game two of the doubleheader.
