The Youngstown State football team spent two hours on Sunday morning continuing to make preparations for its season opener with Michigan State. The Penguins visit the Spartans on Friday, Sept. 2. The contest will be televised on the Big Ten Network and carried on 570 WKBN AM.
YSU worked out in shoulder pads and shorts duruing Sunday's two-hour workout. The Penguins, who are eager to start their 71st season on a positive note, are fairly healthy following fall camp. Offensive lineman Zach Conlan, who suffered an ankle injury last week, returned to practice today to help with that units depth.
Youngstown State worked on individual drills, special teams and then had a short team period. YSUS then gave way to the soccer team who played host to Robert Morris at Stambaugh.
The Penguins will practice on Monday evening at 7 o'clock at Stambaugh Stadium.
