Season Ticket Packages Available for the 2011 Campaign

Season tickets, Penguin Club Memberships and chairback seats, tailgate passes and hospitality tents for the upcoming 2011 Youngstown State Football season are currently available for purchase through the athletic ticket office.

Season-Ticket prices for the 2011 campaign are $84 for reserved seats and $60 for general admission. Individual game ticket prices for the season are $16 for reserved and $12 for general admission. Reserved seats are in sections two through six on the west stands and 14-18 in the east stands. General admission seats are located in sections 1 and 7 of the west stands.

Fans will be encouraged to purchase game tickets in advance. The cost for all reserved and general-admission tickets on gameday will increase by $2.

The best seats in the stadium are in the chairback sections in three, four and five at midfield. The only way to purchase chairback seats is through membership in the YSU Penguin Club. Chairback seat availability starts at the $200 Royal Level of the Penguin Club. Penguin Club Memberships are available for as little as $75 and will allow fans to purchase tickets for the Michigan State game.

The 2011 home schedule will feature six hard-hitting games, with non-conference matchups against Valparaiso and Saint Francis (Pa.) and conference tilts versus Illinois State, South Dakota State, Western Illinois and Missouri State.

The Penguins' home contests in September - Valparasio and Illinois State - are highlighted by State Farm Kids Days in the tailgate lot – featuring bounce-a-rounds, games, prizes, clowns and activities for all young YSU football fans. In addition, those two contests feature "Special $5" general-admission ticket prices for fans.

For the Valpo game, fans will receive a Schedule Magnet courtesy of Coca Cola, 27 WKBN and State Farm. The Austintown High School Marching Band will perform at halftime against the Crusaders.

In the MVFC opener against Illinois State, a full-slate of gameday activities is planned. The House Band will be live in the M-7 Tailgate Lot, the Gia Russa "Taste of Italy" will be held in the M-24 Lot prior to the game. Fans will receive a Pete & Penny Activity Book courtesy of State Farm and MyYTV while the Champion High School Band will perform at halftime.

October will feature three games at the "Ice Castle" in the season's busiest home month. YSU opens the month against South Dakota State on Oct. 8. The Guins' final non-conference game of the season is Oct. 22 vs. Saint Francis (Pa.) and the the annual Homecoming Game is on Oct. 29 against Western Illinois. That contest will be highlighted by the pre-game Homecoming Parade, Hall of Fame ceremonies and the announcement of King and Queen at halftime.

The contest against South Dakota State is YSU Football Alumni Day. All former Penguins are encouraged to attend the contest and the players from the 1991 National Championship squad will be honored in a special ceremony. A set of 1991 Trading Cards will be given to fans courtesy of Farmers National Bank and myvalleysports.com.

The game with Saint Francis (Pa.) is Penguin PRIDE Day where all fans will be encouraged to wear their YSU red to the game. A tailgate Koozie courtesy of Coca Cola, Farmers National Bank and WFMJ TV 21 will be given to fans. The game features the annual Car Coach Display while the North Allegheny High School Band will perform at halftime.

Fans attending the Homecoming, Hall-of-Fame Game will receive an Ice Scraper courtesy of Lyden Oil and WFMJ TV 21.

YSU plays host to Missouri State on Nov. 19 in the annual Senior Day game in its lone November home contest. Fans will receive a team photo courtesy of Farmers National Bank and WBCB "The CW" and the game starts with the YSU Football Alumni Senior Tunnel.

Youngstown State students receive free tickets to each home game with a valid student ID while faculty and staff can purchase half-price tickets in advance of home games.

Individual game tickets for football season will go on sale Monday, August 1 at the YSU Athletic Ticket Office located inside Stambaugh Stadium.

MICHIGAN STATE PURCHASING INFORMATION

Tickets for the Sept. 2 season-opening game at Michigan State will be available for Gridiron Club members of the Penguin Club and for season-ticket holders, based upon availability. Each ticket is $55, which includes a processing fee.

The Ticket Office will hold a one-day sale of Michigan State tickets for YSU students in August. That date will be announced in the near future.

There will be no sale of Michigan State tickets to non-season ticket holders or non-Penguin Club members. It is the best opportunity to guarantee tickets for YSU's first-ever trip to Michigan State. The Spartans, who were Big Ten Conference champions in 2010, are coached by former Penguins assistant coach Mark Dantonio.

YSU Traveline is offering an overnight round-trip motorcoach transportation for $150 per double occupancy (game ticket not included). The cost includes lodging at team hotel, bus transportation and lunch on Friday. The trip will leave from the YSU campus at 9 a.m. on Friday and return to Youngstown on Saturday.
