Torrian Pace Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Squad

Youngstown State junior tailback Torrian Pace has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Five football squad, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday.

Pace has played in all nine games this season for the Penguins. He has rushed for 275 yards on 50 carries and has scored two touchdowns.

This year he has scored two key fourth-quarter touchdowns. Against Albany, Pace scored on fourth-and-goal from the one-yard line with 2:48 left. That touchdown increased YSU's lead from three to 10 points. Against UNI, he scored the game-tying touchdown in the fourth quarter with 7:07 left.

Earlier this year, Pace rushed for a career-high 146 yards on 14 carries and scored two touchdowns against Valparaiso.

It marks the second consecutive year Pace has been named Academic All-District.

YSU is in action on Saturday at Western Illinois. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. Eastern time.
