A busy weekend awaits Youngstown State fans with volleyball, women's basketball, football and men's basketball all playing host to events. The action heats up on Friday night when the volleyball team entertains Cleveland State at the Beeghly Center.
The volleyball team will hold its Senior Night prior to their regular-season finale against the Vikings on Friday. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
Saturday's events start at 8 a.m. when the tailgate lots (M-24 and M-7) open at bright and early. Beer will be on sale in both lots at that time and fans will be allowed in to start their tailgating festivities. Parking in the M-26, M-27 and decks will be available at that time for $5. A limited number of M-7 Parking permits will be available at the booth upon entering the lot.
The first competition on Saturday is the when the women's basketball team plays host to Niagara in its season opener. Seating for the game will be available starting at 10 a.m. at the Beeghly Center.
The YSU football team will make its tailgate walk at approximately 11:35 a.m. through the M-24 Lot. Fans are encouraged to lineup and greet the team as it heads towards the stadium. Members of the YSU Marching Pride will join the walk across Fifth Avenue, through the M-24 Lot, and then back over to Stambaugh Stadium.
The pre-game "Icebreakers" concert will be on the hill by the Andrews Wellness and Recreation Center at 1 p.m.
Members of the YSU baseball program will be selling merchandise near the M-24 Lot and then at the game on the West Stands Concourse. The program will be accepting credit cards for purchases. The women's golf team will be selling YSU "Y" Powerband wristbands and magnets as well. During the game members of the softball team will be selling 50/50 Raffle Tickets.
Prior to the contest, the 11 seniors of the program will be honored at 1:45 p.m. As always on the final home game, the YSU Football Alumni Group will line the field to salute the team with its annual Senior Tunnel.
YSU students are admitted free with a valid student ID with sweet seating on the East Side stands. Tickets on gameday are $19 for reserved seats and $15 for general admission. The YSU Athletic Ticket Office is open until 6 p.m. on Friday.
For those individuals who cannot make Saturday's game can follow the game via LIVE STATS | LIVE AUDIO. Video is available for $11.95 while stats and audio are free. The contest is also available to fans on Watch ESPN.
Following the game, the men's basketball team opens its 2014-15 season against Kent State. Tipoff at the Beeghly Center is set for 7:05 p.m. Gates open for the contest starting at 6 p.m. On Sunday, the Penguins conclude the busy three-day stretch by playing host to Oberlin at 4 p.m.
