The Youngstown State football team will have road games at South Dakota State (Oct. 25) and Illinois State (Nov. 8) televised as part of the Missouri Valley Football Conference's television package which was released on Monday.
The Penguins' contest at South Dakota State is set for a 3 p.m. Eastern start while the tilt at Illinois State will begin at 2 p.m. The local stations which will show the games will be announced in the near future as well as a YSU watch party location for fans to gather and view the games in one area location.
Approximately 50 league games will air on a myriad of television networks during the 2014 season the MVFC also announced.
YSU is coming off an 8-4 season, the most wins by the program since 2006. The Penguins open the campaign on August 30 at Illinois. The first home game is set for Sept. 6 vs. Duquesne.
As part of the conference's increased role in Instant Replay efforts, all of the league's televised games will utilize the system during the year.
The first game of the TV package is set for Oct. 4 when three-time FCS champion North Dakota State visits Western Illinois.
YSU, UNI and Southern Illinois are the only programs to have two contests as part of the TV package.
The entire 12-game regular-season slate will be carried on NewsRadio 570 AM in Youngstown.
Once again, MyYTV will broadcast all YSU football home games on a tape-delay basis. This year's MyYTV game replays will be at 9 p.m. on Saturday and on Sunday's at 10 a.m.
