Penguin Playbook, Penguin Gameday Debut This Week

Youngstown State football fans can catch all the inside scoop on Penguins football with via the Penguin Playbook Radio Show and the Penguin Gameday Television Show. Both shows debut this week as YSU opens the season on Saturday at Pittsburgh.

The Penguin Playbook Radio Show, presented by Southwoods Health, has a new location, Cassese's MVR, just off the YSU Campus, and a new format for 2017. The show's length has been extended to two hours, and it will air live on 1390 WNIO "The Sports Aminal" from 6-8 p.m. on Monday. The first hour will focus on Youngstown State's Olympic sports and be hosted by Mike Yourstowsky, a sports broadcasting major who handles various talent duties for YSU broadcasts on ESPN3. The second hour will feature third-year head football coach Bo Pelini and radio play-by-play announcer Bob Hannon in the same format as previous years.

On Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. on 21 WFMJ, fans can an inside look at the YSU football team on Coach Pelini's television show, "Penguin Gameday". The half-hour program, hosted by WFMJ sports director Dana Balash, will feature highlights, showcase YSU student-athletes and football assistant coaches. "Penguin Gameday" is presented by Bob and Chuck Eddy's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.
