The No. 19 Youngstown State football team plays host to 16th-ranked Illinois State at Stambaugh Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff for the annual Homecoming contest is set for 2 p.m. As always, a full day of events is planned for the game.
Tailgating festivities are set to begin at 8 a.m. in the M-63 and M-70 Lots. Beer will be on sale in both lots beginning at 8 o'clock. Parking in the premium M-71 and M-72 lots is available at that time for $20. Parking in the M-62 Surface Lot (Lincoln Avenue), M-66 Lot and either deck (M-30 and M-60) is just $5.
For the first time since the start of the 2015 season, Wick Ave., on the East side of campus will be open. Fans can easily get navigate campus and to downtown via the redesigned route starting on Friday.
In the WATTS at 9 a.m., YSU is attempting to set a Guinness Book World Record for "The Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Penguins". After attempting the world record, the entire rookery will march down Fifth Avenue dressed as Penguins in the Homecoming Parade.
In the M-63 Tailgate Lot, the Guys Without Ties Band will be in concert beginning at 11 a.m.
At noon, fans can check out the Homecoming Parade on Fifth Avenue. This year's Homecoming theme is Black, White and Red All Over.
Members of the YSU baseball program will be selling merchandise near the M-63 Lot and then at the game on the West Stands Concourse. The program will be accepting credit cards for purchases. The women's golf team will be selling YSU merchandise as well.
All fans attending the game will receive a Stadium Cup of the Lyden Oil Company, Handel's and 21 WFMJ.
During the game members of the softball team will be selling 50/50 Raffle Tickets.
As always, YSU students are admitted free with a valid student ID with seating on the East Side stands. Tickets on gameday are $20 for reserved seats. The YSU Athletic Ticket Office is open until 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday prior to the contest.
At halftime, the 2017 YSU Homecoming King and Queen will be announced.

1:45 p.m. - YSU Marching Pride Pregame Show
2 p.m. - Tailgate Lot Closes
2:04 p.m. - YSU vs. Illinois State
