The fifth-ranked Youngstown State football team plays host to No. 4 South Dakota State at Stambaugh Stadium on Saturday night. Kickoff for the MVFC opening contest is set for 7 p.m. A full afternoon of actitives is planned for the game.

Tailgating festivities are set to begin at 1 p.m. in the M-63 and M-70 Lots. Beer will be on sale in both lots beginning at 1 p.m. Parking in the premium M-71 and M-72 lots is available at that time for $20. Parking in the M-62 Surface Lot (Lincoln Avenue), M-66 Lot and either deck (M-30 and M-60) is just $5.

In the M-63 Tailgate Lot, The Syndicate Band will be in concert beginning at 4 p.m. in the M-63 Lot.

The YSU volleyball team takes on IUPUI in a match at the Beeghly Center starting at 4 p.m. Admission for the contest is free.

At 5:45 p.m., the YSU Marching Pride, which will be joined by the Jefferson (Pa.) Marching Band, will hold their Icebreaker just North of the Andrews Recreation and Wellness Center.

Members of the YSU baseball program will be selling merchandise near the M-63 Lot and then at the game on the West Stands Concourse. The program will be accepting credit cards for purchases. The women's golf team will be selling YSU merchandise as well.

All fans attending the game will receive a mouse pad courtesy of Greenwood Chevrolet, Hill Barth & King and 21 WFMJ. YSU students will get free shirts which can be picked up on the East Side stands in sections 15, 16 and 17.

During the game members of the softball team will be selling 50/50 Raffle Tickets. 

As always, YSU students are admitted free with a valid student ID with seating on the East Side stands. Tickets on gameday are $20 for reserved seats. The YSU Athletic Ticket Office is open until 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday prior to the contest.

During the game, the YSU Family of the Year, Sam and Caryn Covelli and Hometown Pharmacy will receive on-field recognition. The Jefferson (Pa.) Marching Band will perform at halftime along with the YSU Marching Pride.
