YSU Set to Open Horizon League Play Hosting Detroit

The Youngstown State men's tennis team opens Horizon League play on Saturday at the Boardman Tennis Center against Detroit. First serve for the match against the Titans is 5 p.m.

The Penguins enter the match with a 6-5 record while the Titans are 4-8. YSU has won six of its past eight matches while the Titans have been victorious in three of their past five duals.

YSU has won the last two meetings against Detroit, including a conference-opening win last year (4-3). 

Five Penguins have at least nine singles wins this year. Rodrigo Campos has won a team-high 11 matches for the Guins. Sebastian Hagn, Zeeshan Ismail, Felipe Rosa and Silviu Mistreanu have all won nine matches this year. Campos, Hagn and Mistreanu all lead the way with six wins in dual play.

The Penguins play two non-league matches on Monday and Tuesday with duals in Las Vegas, Nevada, against Idaho State and Seattle.
