Penguins Open Play at YSU Fall Invitational With Five Wins

Boardman - The Youngstown State men's tennis team won three singles and two doubles matches on the first day of play at the YSU Fall Invitational at the Boardman Tennis Center on Friday.

Winning singles matches were Sebastian Hagn (Flight A), Silviu Mistreanu (Flight A) and Dawoud Kabli (Flight C). In doubles play, Rodrigo Campos and Mistrean won while Hagn and Kabli picked up a victory to advance.

Hagn defeated Washi Gervais of Saint Francis (Pa.) 3-6, 6-5, 6-5 while Mistreanu won 6-3, 6-3 over Robert Morris' Bruno Russo. Kabli beat Fernando Leite of Robert Morris 6-2, 6-1 in Flight C play.

Doubles play continues tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. Singles play is set to start at 12:30 p.m.
