Wilmington, N.C. -- The Youngstown State softball team had its three-game winning streak snapped after dropping a 7-1 decision to UNC-Wilmington on Wednesday afternoon.
The Penguins, who had just four hits and committed four errors, fall to 8-7 overall.
The Seahawks scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning, one in the both the fourth and fifth and two more in the sixth.
The Penguins got on the board in the top of the sixth when sophomore Miranda Castiglione singled, moved to second on a wild pitch, advanced to third on a ground out, and scored on a passed ball.
Youngstown State faces UMass-Lowell and Mount St. Mary's, Friday, March 14, at 3:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. at the Coppin State Tournament in Baltimore, Md.
