The 11th Annual Youngstown State Women’s Basketball Golf Outing was a resounding success for the program on Saturday at Knoll Run Golf Course in Coitsville, Ohio.

The outing reached capacity again with 36 foursomes teeing off shortly after 9 a.m. Sunny and dry weather led to low scores and a pleasant afternoon.

“We are always overwhelmed by the amount of support our program gets from the community, and Saturday was another example,” head coach John Barnes said. “Our coaching staff and student-athletes would like to thank the 36 foursomes, our sponsors and our golf committee for helping us raise funds for our program’s success.”

The Power Management Company team led by Jack Cramb was one of two teams to shoot an outing-best 16-under par, and it won a scorecard playoff to win first place in the men’s division. The Belleria Boardman group finished second in the playoff. Jack Colonna’s foursome beat the YSU Print Shop’s group in the women’s division, and the group from Greenwood Chevrolet edged Karen Peters’ foursome to win the mixed division.

Horizon level sponsors who had $1,000 packages were Mike and Janet Murray, Powered Aire Inc. and Penn Tool. Penguin level sponsors with $500 packages were Marucci & Gaffney Excavating Company; Farmers National Bank; Greenwood Chevrolet, ms consultants, inc.; Joe Dickey Electric; Jack Colonna; Corky’s Belleria Struthers; Ralph Naples; Belleria Boardman; and the Honda Store. Additionally, there were 69 hole sponsors, and Kaleel Brothers donated the food for the buffet dinner.
