Women's Soccer Falls at Canisius, 1-0

Buffalo, N.Y. - The Youngstown State women's soccer team dropped its season opener to Canisius, 1-0, in double overtime on Friday evening. The Penguins outshot the Golden Griffins, 13-7 in the loss.

Freshman Sammy Salatino led the Penguins with four shots and two shots on goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kylee Moffett registered four saves for the Penguins.

Canisius' Madeline Beaulieu scored off a corner kick in the 103rd minute for the win.

The Penguins host St. Bonaventure in their home opener on Aug. 21, at 3 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
