Penguins Earn Doubles Victory, Sadovnikova Picks Up Win at ITAs

Champaign, Ill. - The Penguins had a successful day at the ITA Midwest Regionals as Margarita Sadovnikova picked up a singles win after teaming up with Marta Burak on a strong doubles performance.

To start the day, Burak and Sadovinkova defeated Milwaukee's Maddy Soule and Christina Colarossi 8-4 in the round of 16. Burak and Sadovnikova take on Notre Dame's Jennifer Kelner and Chrissie McGaffigan on Sunday at 10 a.m. in the quarterfinals.

Later on Saturday, Sadovnikova dispatched of DePaul's Caroline Neumann 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the round of 32. She then lost to the top-seed of the tournament, Michigan's Emina Bektas, 6-1, 6-1.
