Mark Hardaway has stepped down as the head coach of the Youngstown State volleyball program after completing his sixth season.

"We appreciate all of the hard work Coach Hardaway put forth in leading our student-athletes and representing this University in a first class manner," YSU Executive Director of Athletics Ron Strollo said. "Our extensive search process will identify top head coaching candidates to lead our volleyball program moving forward."

Hardaway became the ninth head coach in program history prior to the 2012 season and led the Penguins to winning records and berths in the Horizon League Tournament in each of his first three seasons. Youngstown State finished with eight wins in each of the last two seasons.

A national search for YSU's next head coach has already begun.
