Senior libero Lauren Blanco became the 16th player in Youngstown State volleyball history to record 1,000 career digs on Wednesday evening.
Blanco's milestone dig came with the Penguins trailing 16-11 at Wright State. The Raiders swept the Penguins at McLin Gymnasium 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.
Blanco, a native of El Paso, Texas, finished the night with 13 digs to bring her career total to 1,012. Offensively, Margaux Thompson led the Penguins with seven kills, and Sarah Varcolla notched 10.5 points with four kills, three aces, three solo blocks and a block assist.
Celia Powers had 12 kills to lead Wright State, which hit .252 as a team.
Youngstown State will conclude the 2017 season by hosting Milwaukee on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Beeghly Center.
