The Youngstown State men's and women's cross country team are set to compete at the 2018 NCAA Great Lakes Regional, Friday, Nov. 9, at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
The women's 6K race will start at 11:15 a.m. while the men's 10K race begins at 12:15 p.m.
Youngstown State's men's team, which is coming off its second Horizon League Championship in three years, is ranked 10th in the Great Lakes Region and sending seven runners to the regional while the women's team will have six runners competing.
Sullivan, who is a three-time All-Horizon League First-Team honoree, set the YSU 10K school record at the 2016 NCAA Great Lakes Regional with a time of 31:20.9 and placed 32nd to pace the Penguins to a 15th place team finish. He also broke the YSU 8K record that stood for 20 years with a time of 24.27.4 and finished second to lead the Penguins to the 2018 Horizon League Championship.
At the 2018 Horizon League Championships, the women's squad turned in four of the top 15 6K times in school history. Squatrito's time of 22:16 is tied for sixth, Sebest's time of 22:38 is 11th, Muhlenkamp's time of 22:40 ranks 12th and Scott time of 22:42 ranks 15th on the list.
