Penguins Have Final Tuneup Before League Preparations Begin

Cleveland, Ohio -- The Youngstown State swimming and diving team competed at their final meet of the regular season on Saturday in a triangular against Cleveland State and UIC at the Busby Natatorium. The Vikings beat the Penguins 166-77, while the Flames defeated YSU 157-85.

 

Freshman Casey Hill placed second in three-meter diving 247.65 while juniorAmanda Carpin was third at 212.95. Hill also second in the one-meter dive with a score of 229.30.

 

Sophomore Nishani Cicilson had the best swimming finish placing second in the 50-yard free with a time of 24.59 seconds.  Freshman Sam Roberts third with a time of 2:25.84 in the 200-yard breaststroke while senior Hilary Barrett was third in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:05.74.

 

The Penguins' divers will be in action on Sunday at the YSU Invitational. The meet at the Beeghly Center Natatorium is set to start at 11 a.m. The entire team returns to action on Feb. 24 when the Horizon League Championships get underway on Chicago, Ill.
