Tennis: Jason and Ryan Trapp Claim
First Place in Doubles Fight B

The Youngstown State men's tennis competed in a two
day long invitational hosted by
Valparaiso on October 6-7. The event
included participants from IPFW,
IUPUI, UW-Green Bay and Wright
State.
Scott Kathary defeated Hermann Kuschke from IPFW, 3-0,
retired in No. 1 Singles Flight A. In
Flight B, sophomore Diego Cerzosimo
beat Greg Fallowfield from IUPUI 7-6
(10-8),6-1.
Ryan Trapp
also picked up a win in Singles
Flight B defeating Eric Plaushined
from UW-Green Bay 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.
In Singles Flight C, Christopher Leson defeated Wright State's Tommy
Cox 7-5, 6-1.
In doubles action, Ryan Trapp teamed
up
with brother Jason Trapp to defeat
IPFW's Nathan Jones and Arturo Salgado 8-4 claiming first place
in Flight B.
Brian Meek and Cerzosimo also placed
in Flight B beating Scott Dickert
and Eric Hines from UW-Green Bay 8-4
for third place.
The Penguins will conclude the fall season next
Saturday when they play at Cleveland
State. |
