Men's
Tennis Sweeps Doubles Competition in
6-1 loss to Duquesne
Boardman, Ohio --
The Youngstown State men's tennis team dominated
Duquesne in all three rounds of
doubles but could not pick up any
wins in singles in
Saturday evening's 6-1 loss at the
Boardman Tennis Center.
Head Coach Eric Ronan said that the
team played well but needed to
finish stronger.
"When you lose four matches that
lasts three sets your playing
against tough competition," said
Ronan. "I give credit to Duquesne.
They came to play."
Tom Barth and Scott Kathary opened
the evening up by beating Adam
Townsend and Blake William 8-3 in
No. 1 doubles. Jason Trapp and Ryan
Trapp won their match 8-5 against
Mark Maciuch and Jeremy McClelland. Brian Meek and Diego Cerzosimo
finished up the sweep defeating Mike
Ortega and Ryan Weisband 8-4.
The
men's tennis team will play again
tomorrow morning against Dayton at the Boardman Tennis
Center. Match time is set for 8 a.m. |
