Men's Tennis Signs Talented New Recruit for Fall
2008
Youngstown -- Head men's tennis
coach Eric Ronan announced the singing of recruit Steve
D'Angelo who will join the tennis program in the fall .
D'Angelo was a stand-out player at Wheeling Park High
School his freshman and sophomore years before
relocating to Mt. Lebanon High School in Pittsburgh, Pa.
While in West Virginia, D'Angelo
was an all-state first-team selection back-to-back
years. He also won both singles and doubles state
championships his sophomore year.
D'Angelo is nationally ranked at
No. 284 and is ranked No. 16 in the Middle States. He
has also played in 13 different state competitions
including the Super Nationals, National Clay Courts,
National Opens and was selected to play in Zone Team for
Middle States.
Ronan is pleased with
D'Angleo's decision to come to YSU.
"I'm really excited about Steve joining the program,"
said Ronan
"I'm also looking forward to the success he can
bring. He is a welcome addition to the team." |
