Thayer and
Volkova Pick up Doubles win in ITA
Midwest Regionals
Ann
Arbor, Mich. -- Senior Emily
Thayer and Sophomore Anna Volkova
concluded the fall season at the ITA
Midwest Regionals. Thayer defeated
Cleveland State in her consolation
round of singles. She later joined
Volkova at doubles to defeat the
University of Michigan.
In the single qualifier round
Volkova lost to Wisconsin's Chelsea
Nusslock 7-6 (3), 6-7(5), 6-1.
Thayer dropped her qualifier round
to UIC's Lubica Nadasska 6-2, 6-2.
Thayer went on in consolation match
to defeat Jackie Tabb from Cleveland
State 1-6, 6-4,10-3.
In doubles
action, the duo teamed up to beat
Michigan's Tanvi
Dudhela and Kari Wig 8-6. In the
next round Angela DiPastian and
Christina Keesey from Ohio State
claimed the 8-3 over YSU.
The women's tennis team will be back
in action on January 19th as they
take on Xavier at the Boardman
Tennis Center. |
