Penguins Drop 7-0 Decision at
Bowling Green

Ohio -- The Youngstown State
women's tennis team dropped a 7-0
decision to Bowling Green at the
Perrysburg Tennis Center on Sunday.
YSU lost the doubles point as BGSU's
Chrstine Chircosta and Maddy
Eccleston defeated YSU's Margarita
Sandovnikova and Nicole
Haralambopoulos by an 8-1 score at
No. 1. At No. 2, Bowling Green's
Katia Babina and Jade Johnson
defeated Anna Volkova and Tanisha
Welch 8-7 (7-5). YSU defaulted at
No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Bowling Green won all five matches and
earned a victory by default at No. 6
singles.
At No. 1, Chircosta beat Sadovnikova 6-3, 6-3; at No. 2
Babina beat Volkova 6-1, 6-1; at
No.3 Samantha Kintzel defeated Welch
6-2, 6-3; at No. 4 Eccelston beat
Haralambopoulos 6-0, 6-1 and at No.
5 singles, Katie Grubb beat Hannah
Patten 7-5 and 6-0.
YSU returns to action on Wednesday when they play host to
California. The dual is scheduled to
start at noon at the Boardman Tennis
Center.
